Sustainability refers to rising social awareness of the need for a resource-efficient, environmentally friendly way of doing business with a long-term orientation. At the same time, the focus is not only on the preservation of nature but also on achieving a balance between environmental, economic and social objectives. These complex requirements present completely new challenges for architecture, the real-estate sector and the construction industry. Holistic planning is becoming a prerequisite for both environmental and economic success in the long term.
While efficiency, investment, innovation and constant optimisation are economic necessities for HUECK, we always aim to strike a sensible balance that is oriented towards responsible treatment of the environment, people and the future. With this in mind, we exert an influence on the manufacturing process even at the production stage – not only when it comes to purchasing and the procurement of materials. We traditionally process a material whose production is highly energy-intensive but that scores well in terms of life-cycle analysis thanks to its low weight, excellent durability and unlimited recyclability. When we develop our system solutions, we focus on the efficient use of resources, recyclability and achieving a long service life. However, our commitment to sustainability does not end with the material and the production process. At all levels of the company, we constantly strive to reduce CO2 emissions and energy consumption, to increase the use of renewable energy, to reduce resource consumption and to minimise waste.

Aluminium as a material
HUECK has always firmly believed in the use of aluminium as a material, for it is not only extremely lightweight and durable but also offers maximum >recyclability. The use of this sustainable material therefore forms a key part of our company strategy.

Hydro CIRCAL
With Hydro CIRCAL profile systems, we offer sustainable solutions for future-proof buildings. With Hydro CIRCAL, we offer an aluminium alloy that consists of at least 75% end-of-life aluminium. In this way, we conserve resources, reduce emissions and, for example, turn a worn-out aluminium window into an equivalent new window.

Because sustainability is a matter of course for HUECK, the production team constantly strives to minimise and offset its ecological footprint. For example, extrusion waste is collected and recycled in our in-house foundry.

Wherever possible, HUECK takes care to ensure the careful use of resources, sustainable building management, the reduction of business travel, and the avoidance of printed materials. The HUECK team is especially proud of successfully implemented projects that meet the company’s aims in terms of sustainability and the environmentally conscious use of resources.

As a founding member of >A|U|F and >GDA, HUECK also ensures the maximum possible recycling rate of aluminium as a valuable raw material. Moreover, many items in the HUECK product family are >EPD-certified. Moreover, our HUECK Trigon FS modular system and our HUECK Lambda WS/DS 075 construction kit are Cradle to Cradle silver-certified.
